Introduction

My name is Heather Bledsoe. I have been a high school teacher for the past 20 years and have truly enjoyed the time with my students.

I teach at Shawnee Mission North High School and have taught various levels of math from special ed co-taught classes all the way up to College Algebra Trig. Teaching is truly my passion – I spend so much of my “free time” looking for ways to improve my craft.

I became National Board Certified in 2017 and realized that while I had accomplished a major professional bucket list item, that I had also started an incredible self-reflective journey. I have come to see the value of looking hard at what goes on in my classroom while looking to improve things so that what I do is best for kids.

In 2020, I began working towards my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. I am a teacher at heart, and this has been a great fit to my educational journey.
